Paul's pizzeria is a definite yes. When in town, I always have to stop by for a thin crust pizza with their original pepperoni. You can order online and by the time you get there, it's ready. Enjoy looking at all the Detroit signs on the wall. Best gem in Southwest Detroit!

Paul's pizza is keeping it real. I just hope the neighborhood and Paul's stay the same. With the new influx of stuck up people that moved to Detroit from Denver or upstate New York I can only cross my fingers. Paul's have been making great pizza and fish and chips since the early 60's and the quality and great service continue.

Paul's rules! The prices are AMAZING. Great local alternative to some of the big name chains in the area. They are speedy and they do a great job. And they'll apply coupons and tell you the deals without even asking!

Since 1962 a Southwest Detroit Tradition. 50 plus years pumping out super PIZZA and more Really Good Pizza Pizza pies at their best, great salads and sandwiches. A 50 year spot in the D Very nice local place with some of the best pizzas in town, conveniently located in Mexicantown and open late. Super selection of menu items has something for everyone,, including great burgers, subs and salads. Priced right lunch specials come with drink ranging from 4 to 6 bucks. The hand tossing of the dough is delightful to watch thru the glass in the open air kitchen. The tossing and spinning of the dough is a true art that makes you wait for while the smells drift outta the ovens. A small eating area with 6 stools viewing Vernor makes this a great people watching spot. Always fast friendly service with a smile along with delivery has made this one of the best eating spots in Southwest Detroit for over 50 years. Be sure to check out there website and Urbanspoon photo's and you'll be a regular just like me. ENJOY

Today I got a flyer in my mailbox so I decided to order some pizza and I really wanted a sub so I got both and this is my first time ordering from here. The flyer said oven baked subs so my expectations were that it would be baked from pizza dough but that's not what it was. It's a sub bun that I guess maybe they put in the oven, however it wasn't bad I ate it as it was just a half of a sub and I'm real picky about my food if it was really bad I would have tossed it, it's not anything I personally would order again though. The Pizza, I ordered a Veggie Pizza not bad at all I think with new places you just gotta find what's good to you so next time I'll try the Pizza with meats. What I absolutely love is, the online ordering, it's great for people like me who is hearing impaired and don't use the phone to well so honestly because of that option I will definitely use them again. Those italian dinners sound delicious I'll have to try those next time, oh and you can track your online order too I love that! My delivery guy John was really nice and patient as I had to come down 8 floors to come get my food I didn't want him to have to come up and leave his car sitting in a no parking zone. Thank you John had I had more cash on me your tip would have been bigger bit I got you next time!

I revere the slices from Paul's. Get it. If your girl doesn't want to ride with you here, take her for a walk, and Walker all the way to Paul's. Get it. After Paul's, you'll feel like a Newman. Get it. I try to recommend stuff like this to my chain-loving pizza-eating friend, but he always Pauls in the wrong direction. This is *real* pizza. This is what pizza is actually about. I'd call it real deal Pizza except then I'd sound like Guy Fieri and the only thing worse than sounding like Guy Fieri is looking like Guy Fieri. Or, looking *at* Guy Fieri. When he's on top of you. Oh no. Mental image burned onto brain. Scarred for life. Hashtag scarred. Hashtag for. Hashtag life. What to get: Pizza What not to get: Not Pizza One of the best versions of authentic delicious cheap Detroit style pizza that I found in the city. We're talking some of the best pizza in the world right here in Detroit much like Buffalo and NYC. Order by the slice and be absolutely amazed at the gooey tomatoey cheesey pepperoni-ey crusty goodnessy. Not healthy but absolutely spectaculary. My other favorite places in town are all Downriver in Allen Park and the like - but this one is a little bit to the West near Mexicantown so it's nice that you can get a really good authentic delicious greasy slice at this lofty standard in a different part of town. Now if I could just find some perfect Detroit-style slices up North and in the Northwest, then the whole region would be covered. They also have really awesome decor in here with a lot of traffic signs, construction signs and road signs decorating a wall - as you can see in my picture. That was really fun. Really nice people in here too. Great service. Detroit style Pizza has a lot of similarities to Buffalo pizza, and between the two of them, they're probably the best homemade All-American style pizza cities in the whole world. This was my first ever experience of really good Detroit pizza and I will never forget it. Absolutely spectacular. Pizza in Detroit is something very special. A lot of the locals and definitely out-of-towners don't appreciate just how miraculous it is. Thick, doughy pizza bread with delicious hearty homemade tomato sauce and thick layers of cheese, with greasy-ass pepperoni as the Crown on the King that is Detroit Style on the throne that is delicious dough of the kingdom that is Pizza. The city knows how to pizza, and Paul's knows better than most. It is the only city other than Buffalo that I've ever been to with a sky-high standard of local pizza like this. Funnily enough the pizza in Detroit - much like that in Buffalo - is best found south of the city. Morons will tell you that there is no South Detroit and that Journey were wrong, but there really is. It's called Downriver. It's technically Southwest of the downtown, but it's South enough. The Pizza of perfection is specifically in Allen Park. I highly recommend BC Pizza and Bella and Paul's, as well as the Allen Park location of local chain Primo's. I will update this review when I find more great ones, but in general, as long as you're getting it from the small mom-and-pop family places, you're going to be getting some of the best pizza in your life in Detroit. I know people say NYC has the best pizza, and honestly, 4 of the best 5 slices in the country are probably in NYC. But in terms of overall excellence at many of the masses of locally owned spots, nothing comes close to the consistent standards of Buffalo and Detroit. Bear in mind, you may not like this pizza if you are into hipster traditional healthy locally sourced stuff. For that I recommend skipping Detroit and Buffalo completely. Head to Williamsburg and stop hogging Yelp. Now stop Pauling my leg and go and try a slice from Paul's.
